When my husband and I first started dating, we quickly discovered that we both enjoyed taking nice long walks together. Unfortunately, we also started dating in the middle of a very cold and frigid winter. So…what did we do? We began frequenting the many walkways that make up Crown Center settled in downtown Kansas City!
While on our walks, we discovered a little shop called Shang Tea which sells premium loose leaf teas. Inside the store you are greeted by the delicate fragrance of loose leaf teas and friendly staff. You can try teas right there in the store so that you can pick out your favorites! Once we tried the White tea, White Peony King, we knew we had found a winner. We have been back several times to purchase this tea, in short it is one tea that “is just what it is”…and that…is awesome. No added flavoring, smooth (I mean creamy smooth), relaxing, and delicious. I highly recommend this tea, it is one of my absolute favorites!
- Type: White Tea
- Taste: Sweet, mellow flavor
- Origin: Tai Mu Mountain
- Amount: 1 tablespoon per cup of water
- Steep Time: 1-2 minutes
Directions: Boil water until approx. 195-210 degrees. In a tea infuser or tea pot with an infuser, add the desired amount of loose tea (see amounts above). Pour boiling water over the tea and steep for 1-2 minutes. The taste should be subtle and smooth, but should not taste too bitter.
Where do you get some? If you are in KC, I recommend stopping by the store at Crown Center or you can go to their website!

Beautiful photo, and thanks for the recommendation too.
This is just beautiful! The Professor and I both love tea but haven’t really tried anything like this - we have a tea shop at one of the local malls and they sell loose leaf as well as blends so will look for it there. Lovely photo too!
I have to try this one!
